Historique :	L'avant corps de la façade Est correspondant au choeur de la chapelle ayant été en réalité réalisé moins profond que prévu sur le projet initial de Guillaume Rollin en 1746, une petite sacristie avait été créée aux dépends de la salle des femmes, au sud, comme le montre le plan levé en 1785 par Rouvière (plan déposé au musée d'Uzès). On y accédait par une porte percée sous la tribune sud de la chapelle et qui est toujours la porte actuelle. La sacristie a été agrandie tardivement, à la fin du 19e ou au tout début du siècle suivant (sur un plan de Bourdon au milieu du 19e elle est identique à celle relevée en 1785) : elle apparaît doublée dans un plan du 5.1.1922 (archives de l'hôpital d'Uzès). Le meuble à deux corps et panneaux chantournés pourrait correspondre aux dimensions de la petite sacristie du plan de 1785 ; on voit sur ce plan l'emplacement du meuble situé face à la porte avec une petite croix au centre. Les inventaires des meubles de l'hôpital datant de 1751, 1752 et 1753 (archives hôpital d'Uzès E 125, E 126, E 127) ne font aucune allusion aux meubles de sacristie pas plus qu'à la chapelle (on ne parle que du mobilier des malades et des soeurs).
