Historique :	La tradition orale rapporte que ce chemin de croix aurait été réalisé par l'abbé Joseph Bayle sur de la toile de draps qui lui auraient été fournis par ses paroissiens. Curé de Saint-Victor depuis 1784, réfugié en Italie sous la Révolution puis de retour dès 1797, Joseph Bayle décède en février 1829 puis est remplacé par Auguste Griolet. Le registre de délibérations de la fabrique mentionne deux dates d'érection du chemin de croix : le 16 avril 1840 (suivant l'indult accordé le 23 septembre 1839) et le 26 février 1853 (indult du 27 août 1841). Il semble ainsi peu probable que l'abbé Bayle soit l'auteur de ce chemin de croix. Il pourrait par contre s'agir de son successeur. Reste la question de la date d'érection du chemin de croix, les deux dates portées dans le registre étant très proches l'une de l'autre.
