Historique :	"Télescope du 3e quart du 18e siècle, réalisé à Paris par Jean-Baptiste Charles Gonichon (en activité en 1733, mort en 1762). Associé en 1733 à l'opticien Claude Paris, son beau-frère, il travaille seul ensuite, puis en 1763 sa veuve, Marie-Michelle Paris Gonichon, reprend le brevet de son frère Claude Paris, de ""marchand miroitier privilégié suivant la Cour."" Gonichon et Martin, son analogue londonien, sont alors réputés pour la qualité de leurs instruments. Ce télescope (en anglais ""reflecting telescopes"") est vraisemblablement un télescope ""grégorien"" (miroir secondaire concave que l'on déplace pour faire la mise au point avec une petite molette à coté de l'oculaire fixe). Ce montage optique inventé par Gregory d'Aberdeen avait l'avantage de redresser les images (permettant ainsi un usage ""terrestre"")."
