Description :	Cette pièce d'orfèvrerie mêle des éléments décoratifs du 18e (coquilles sur les côtés de la base et volutes feuillagées à la base de la gloire) avec une iconographie (Agneau mystique) et un modèle d'ostensoir qui fera fortune tout au long du 19e siècle.

Historique :	Cet ostensoir a été réalisé entre 1798 et 1809 par un orfèvre d'Avignon aux initiales S.C. Il pourrait être attribué à Alexis Sauveur II Clerc, fils de l'orfèvre Pierre Sauveur, reçu maître à Avignon le 2 décembre 1779. Encore en activité vers 1810, en 1823 il est porté sur la liste des jurés d'assises. De cet orfèvre on connaît seulement dans le Gard un ciboire (inscrit MH en 1980) à l'église d'Aramon.
