Description :	Crosse en bronze fondu, ciselé et argenté composée d'une hampe formée de (cinq?) éléments séparés par une bague unie dont certains sont munis d'un filetage, et d'un pommeau en forme de vase Medicis, accosté de trois consoles, servant de support à un crosseron. Ce dernier, dont la base est ornée d'un culot de feuilles d'acanthe, s'amincit progressivement et s'enroule en une volute feuillagée qui se termine par un fleuron grenu. La hampe est recouverte d'un décor quadrillé formant des losanges aux contours torsadés dans lesquels alternent fleurs de lys et fleurons, motifs que l'on retrouve à l'identique sur la hampe d'une croix de procession réalisée en 1747 pour l'église de Sainte-Montaine dans le Cher.

Historique :	Exemple rarissime d’insigne épiscopal d’Ancien Régime, cette crosse a appartenu à Charles-Prudent de Becdelière, évêque de Nîmes de 1737 à sa mort en 1784. Vraisemblablement sauvée du sac de l’évêché pendant la Révolution française, elle a été offerte en
